      Mildred L. Petersen, 88, 101 First St., Oconto, died January 6, 1999, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation.
      Mildred was born July 20, 1910 in Milwaukee to the late John and Martha (Schallock) Kessler. Mildred married Lester Petersen on March 25, 1935. He preceded her in death May 13, 1989. She was a member of First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.
      Survivors include three sisters, Estelle Randolph, Milwaukee; Grace (Anthony) Waraksa, Iron River, MI; Shirley (Francis) Heesakker, Appleton; a special sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kessler, Sheboygan; many nieces and nephews who were dear to her, especially Judy Will, Milwaukee; and Ruth Belongia, Oconto; who was a faithful visitor at the nursing home.
      Friends called at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard DeBenedetto officiating. Burial will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
