- Van Lankvelt, Eleanore J. (Lenz) Kaukauna
Age 89, was born to eternal life on June 5, 2005. She was born in Little Chute on November 4, 1915, daughter of the late Theodore and Clara (Stuyvenberg) Lenz. She was married to Wilbur J. (Bill) Van Lankvelt for 41 years before his death on January 18, 1978. Small in stature-with tiny feet- Eleanore had a great wit and sense of humor. A private person, she took great pride in cleanliness and orderliness in her home and her life. A clean lintel is a sign of a clean house. After Bills death , she worked as a housekeeper for 16 years at the Holy Name Rectory, Kimberly, thoroughly enjoying taking care of the priests her boys and their home. Her prayer book and her rosary were used daily and prayers were always offered for those in need.
Eleanore is survived by her children: Ted and his wife Jan of Waukesha, his children, Heidi of London, UK and their mother, Margie; Jodi of Charlotte, NC; Maxine and her husband Charles of Shawano, their children: Andrea and her husband Paul, Menomonee Falls, Brooke and his wife Bridget of Dallas, TX and their children, Eleanore (named for Great-Grandma) and Charles: Donald and his wife Sandra of Menasha, his children: Jeff and his wife Tracy of Darboy, Michelle and Ryan of Appleton and their mother, Mary Van Lankvelt. Also survived by Bills family: Joan Landreman, Roger and Cuca Van Lankvelt, Jim and Audrey Van Lankvelt, Sharon and Andy Stumpf, and Larry and Carol Van Lankvelt. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Thecla Kleiber, brothers, Damien and Sylvester (Becker) Lenz, Sisters-in-law: Delores Martin, Carol Diedrich and Millie Oskar: Brothers-in-law: Jerome and Harvey Van Lankvelt and William Landreman.
The celebration liturgy of Eleanores life will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, KIMBERLY CAMPUS, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dave Ruby of Oconto Falls officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Franciscan Nuns, the staff and the many residents at St. Paul Manor where Eleanore resided the past two plus years. We are so appreciative of your daily loving care and compassion extended to our Mom and how it enriched her life. Thank you also to the staff at St. Paul Home who cared for her so tenderly during the last days of her life. You all truly do Gods work! Thank you to Dr. Montgomery Elmer and his wonderful staff who always treated her with the utmost care and dignity. Thank you to those in the neighborhood where she used to live you were always there to help and it was appreciated.
