The golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest, God it broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. A million times we thought of you, a million times we've cried, If Love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we love you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a special place no one else can never fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but Ruth you didn't go alone, for most of us what with you that day God took you home. God took from us a very special person.
- Grandma Ruth was born in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. She was the youngest of 3 in her family. When she was two years old her mom died. She lived with her grandma until she married Grandpa Mark.
Grandma Ruth stayed home to take care of her 7 children. When her last son was born in 1971, Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Mark bought a bar on Pine Street. She worked full time in the bar until they sold it in 1976. Later she had a job at the deli department at the Piggly Wiggly and at Reynebeau Floral putting floral arrangements together.
Grandma Ruth always found time to go to every one of her child's sporting events. If it was volleyball games, basketball games, football games, wrestling matches, or track events. She was always there. In one year she had 4 kids in high school. Grandma Ruth was the person in the bleachers sitting on her hands because she was always nervous when she watched her kids play sports.
