- Dolores E. Matzke, age 87, of Ledgeview, went to her heavenly home on April 5, 2016. Dolores was born September 10, 1928 in the town of Glenmore to the late Walter and Mary (Sherlock) Kiley and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a 1947 graduate of DePere High School. Dolores married Kenneth J. Matzke on October 11, 1952 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in DePere.
Dolores was a hardworking Irish Catholic farm wife for 63 years. She always kept the cookie jar full and ice cream in the freezer. She looked forward to any opportunity to gather family and friends in the garage party room. She loved a good game of Sheephead and always carried her coin purse, just in case.
She is survived by her husband, Ken, and her children: Donna (Paul) Trousil, Ledgeview; David (Debbie) Matzke, Ledgeview; Dale "Curly" (Dawn) Matzke, Glenmore; Carolyn Tordeur (Rick Ledvina), New Franken; Chris (Scot) Gerarden, Athelstane; Eileen (Andy) Nicholson, Green Bay. Grandchildren: Eric Trousil, Carrie Becker; Amanda Obenhoffer, Ben and Justin Matzke; Garett and Shannon Tordeur; David and Nick Brogan; Danielle and Molly Gerarden; Ned, Danny, Bridget and Maggie Nicholson and nine great-grandchildren. Sister, Marcella (Lee) Hoffman, Ventura, California; brothers: Raymond (Kathy) Kiley, DePere; Tom (Marian) Kiley, Glenmore; and Jim Kiley, Green Bay. Dolores is further survived by her sisters-in-law: Blossom Krueger, DePere; Joyce Cohen, Wayside; Rosella Schroeder, Denmark; Gloria (Roger) Bougie, DePere, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Marie Pansier and Rosella Reedy, and by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in DePere with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial to follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in DePere. Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. The Matzke family would like to express a very special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care.
