    Obituary Patricia A. (Van Beek) Matzke
    Patricia A. (Van Beek) Matzke, life long Green Bay resident, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at a local care facility. Pat was 95, a lady who lived a full life and was a blessing to everyone she knew. She was born January 20, 1927, in Green Bay, to the late Edward and Mathilda (Denissen) Van Beek. Pat was a graduate of Green Bay East High School and shortly after began a career with Green Bay Packaging. Pat married Harold “Mike” Matzke on June 29, 1946, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2010. Pat’s second and last career move was to Paper Converting Corporation where she retired after 27 years of service. Pat lived an active and full life. She was a member of the VFW Winiecki Post 9677 Women’s Auxiliary, the Brown County Extension Homemakers. She was a founding member and active member of St. Philip The Apostle Parish for her entire life. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, served on various committees and helped with the church picnic. Pat’s pride and joy was truly her family. She enjoyed attending all the events, birthdays and celebrations and watching her family grow. Pat was the family historian and especially loved telling stories to the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat, and her dear friend, Jim Vanden Langenberg, enjoyed Friday night fish fry’s and later, a good card game. We are eternally grateful to Jim for his physical, emotional, and social support for our Mom. Pat is survived by her three children; Wayne (Mary) Matzke, Pewaukee; Randy (Pam) Matzke and Sharon (Gary) Rentmeester, all of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Van Bellinger, Green Bay and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry (MaryAnn) Van Beek and Arnold (Barbara) Van Beek; two sisters, Lola (Sam) Nooyen and Geraldine (Chip) Gauthier; brothers-in-law: Raymond Van Bellinger; Merlin (Dorothy) Matzke; Donald (Dorothy) Matzke; Robert (Loni) Matzke; Russell (Joanne) Matzke and Jerry (Janice) Matzke; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Chet) Corrigan; Eunice (Don) Gazella; Erna (Robert) Brosig; Shirley (Sylvester) Jankowski and Mary Lou (Donald) Lipp. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:30-6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 27. A parish wake service will conclude the evening at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria St., from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Thursday at the church with Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.
