    • Paul F. Gillen; 97, of Suffield, beloved husband of Ione (Vanden Heuvel) Gillen for 70 years, passed away on July 15, 2018. He was born August 18, 1920 in Kaukauna, WI, son of the late William Peter Gillen and Mary (Schimberg) Gillen. In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his five children, Mary Frances (Gillen) Berstene and her husband Michael, Stephen Peter Gillen and his wife Karen Sue, Christopher Mark Gillen and his wife Joanne, Anne Marie (Gillen) Hansen and her husband Steven, John William Gillen and his wife Susan. His eight grandchildren Elizabeth (Berstene) Gallagher, Kathryn Berstene, Matthew Gillen, Andrew Gillen, Rebecca Hansen, Erik Hansen, Amy (Gillen) Sieber, Melissa (Gillen) Billy and four great grandchildren. Paul was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Suffield as well as many civic organizations. He was a graduate of St. Norbert's College in DePere WI and a decorated Army veteran, serving in Pacific Theater in WWII. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018, 1:00 PM, at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield. Burial with military honors will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.
