- Claude A. Peotter, 77, Shawano, passed away Monday evening, July 15, 2002, at the Shawano Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Seymour, son of the late Walter and Frieda (Maas) Peotter.
On April 19, 1949, he was united in marriage to Doris Meyer in Sturgeon Bay.
Claude served during World War II in the invasion of Iwo Jima with the United States Marines. He was a member of the Seymour VFW and the American Legion. He was a past owner of the Seymour Hotel, a Kiwanis club member and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Pam (Dan) Zak, Seymour; Jon (Carol) Peotter, Waupaca; Paula (Lee) Solberg Peotter, Waupaca; and Mike Peotter, Green Bay. He is further survived by his eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one brother, Glen (Nancy) Peotter, Wayside.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene; and one sister, Delores.
Friends may call at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, Thursday, July 18, 2002, from 3 to 5 p.m., with funeral services at 5 p.m. with the Reverend Donald Staude officiating.
Burial will be at the King Veteran Cemetery, King, Wis.
Military Rites will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
There will be a reception, to follow the services, in Claude's memory at the Seymour Hotel.
