Notes - Mrs. Margaret Baer, 96, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Hilbert, the widow of Anthony Sr., died Thursday evening at the Riverview Manor Nursing home, Wisconsin Rapids, where she had resided the past four years.
The former Margaret Nilles was born on April 13, 1880 in Hilbert the daughter of Math and Margaretha Bauer Nilles.(sic) On October 4, 1898 she was married to Mr. Baer at Hilbert were Mr. Baer was a blacksmith and Mrs. Baer, a midwife. He died on Sept. 26, 1936.
Mrs. Baer lived in Chilton from 1954 until 1960 when she moved to Wisconsin Rapids to make her home with a daughter. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert and its Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Wesley and Mrs. Richard (Delphine) Suhr, both of Wisconsin Rapids, two sons, Anthony of Chicago and Al of Appleton, 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. A daughter and two sons preceded her in death.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert, preceded by family rites at the Kapitzke Funeral Home, Hilbert. The Rev. Anthony Birdsall, pastor will be celebrant of Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
