    • Raymond E. Otto, Kaukauna, age 94, passed away on Tuesday December 25, 2012 at St. Paul Home with his family by his side. He was born November 3, 1918 in Sherwood, son of the late Edward and Elsie (Wolf) Otto. Ray was a WWII Army Veteran and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18 - Appleton. On November 1, 1958 he married Viola Mathis at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, where they remain members today. The couple lived in the area their entire married lives. Ray retired in 1980 from Thilmany Pulp and Paper where he had worked for 35 years as a beater room engineer. Ray loved spending time on Lake Winnebago at his cottage. He and Vi enjoyed sturgeon spearing, lake fishing, gardening, and going to packer games.

      He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vi, Kaukauna; his children: Judy (Henry) Hoelzel, Appleton, Sharon (Edwin "Butch") Meissner, Marshfield, and Steve (Robin) Mathis, Hortonville; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert Otto, Sherwood; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law: Patricia (Maurice) Kools, Hartford, WI and Mary Gerrits, Menomonee Falls, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by a son, Bill in 1998; 2 sisters; 2 brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

      Funeral Services for Ray will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon St., Kaukauna with Pastor Karl Schultz officiating. Friends may call on Friday January 4, 2013 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday directly at Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
