- Jesse R. Ramsey, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at his home in Menasha. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on September 29, 1922, to the late Willie and Artie (Tunnel) Ramsey. In 1962, Jesse was united in marriage to M. Delphine Brennecke in Madison and she preceded him in death. Jesse was a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII. After retiring from the military, Jesse worked at Thilmany for many years. He had a beautiful collection of rocks and made fine jewelry out of them. Jesse was a former member of local Lapidary clubs. He loved his vegetable gardens and cooking, and his three cats.
Jesse will be missed by his three step-daughters: Joan Grimmer, Pine River, MN, Carol Jenneman, Appleton, and Barbara Gietman, Little Chute; Grandchildren: Vicki (Don) Wolz-Grimmer, John Grimmer, Mark (Wendy) Grimmer, Paul (Paula) Grimmer, Matthew Grimmer, Carrie (Paul) Kryszak, Donald (Cindy) Jenneman, Tom (Lori) Gietman D.D.S., Connie (Todd) Verbruggen, Jenni (Rick) Roberts; 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and his relatives in Oklahoma.
Jesse was also preceded in death by 3 sons-in-law: Dale Grimmer, Eugene Jenneman, and Peter Gietman.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal St., Little Chute with Deacon George Schraufnagel officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
A very special thank you to Jesse's Great Grandchildren, especially Kevin Kryszak and Peter Verbruggen, for taking such good care of Grandpa Jesse and having such a special bond with him.
