- Shawn Lee Voigt, age 34, of Appleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness, on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. Shawn was born February 4, 1981, in Appleton, the son of Robin and Linda (Stormfeltz) Voigt. He was a 1999 graduate of Appleton West High School.
On August 7, 2010, Shawn married Jaclyn Marie Schopp in Oshkosh, and together they made their home in Appleton. He was a proud member of the UA local 400 union. He was employed with C.R. Meyer as a Journeyman Welder, a position he took great pride in.
Shawn will always be remembered for being a Huge Family Man and a dedicated Dodge Man. He loved welding and working on cars; his prized possession was his Low Rider. Shawn was truly a handyman, a "Jack of all Trades", who enjoyed Mudding, cooking, riding crotch rockets and barbequing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jaclyn Marie Voigt; children, Trinity and Dakota Voigt; parents, Robin and Linda Voigt; sisters, Cynthia (Steven) Thompson, and Jennifer Voigt (Aaron Tutland); father-in-law, Tim (Dianne) Schopp, and mother-in-law, Jean Schopp. He is further survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Colleen, Michael, Adam, Vanessa, Whitney, and Ariel; nephews and nieces, Taylor, Brooke, Logan, Matthew, Dixee, Sirena, Malik, Eddie and Ryder; aunts and uncles, Joyce (Wilfred) Herz, Vern (Christine) Voigt, best friends, David Dicke and Chris Seefeldt; daddy's canine companions, Monte and Chewy and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vern and Regina Voigt, Clarence and Verona Stormfeltz, and Dolores Schopp; aunts and uncles, Steven Voigt, Jeffrey (Diane) Voigt and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon - 4 p.m., on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Rudy Herbrich officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, on Monday, January 4, 2016, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
