    • Wendy Lou (Burkel) Fay, 57, Green Bay, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born September 5, 1956, in Green Bay, to the late Everette and Mabel (Zastrow) Burkel.

Wendy graduated from Bay Port High School, Class of 1974. She was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters. Wendy met the love of her life, Dick, in 1984 and they married on January 26, 2002. She enjoyed her career as a waitress at the Ramada Inn for many years.

Wendy cherished her five dogs (Max, Tobey, Tucker, Harley, and Lucie). Spending time with her family and friends in Michagamme, MI was something she truly relished. Wendy loved playing cards with her sisters, and enjoying endless laughter with her family and friends around the kitchen table. She absolutely adored her two grandchildren, Jacob and McKenzie.

Wendy had both a passion and a talent for cooking, taking the opportunity to provide excellent feasts whenever she could. She always cooked for an army and enjoyed it the most when she could share with her friends and family. Also as one of Green Bay's most committed Packer fans, Wendy dedicated Sundays to supporting her hometown team.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Dick; two daughters, Jenny Fay, Green Bay; and Nicki Lampinen (Rodney), Leopolis; grandchildren, Jacob and McKenzie; two stepchildren, Chris Dobry, and Kelly Kirby (Nick); her three sisters, Patti Brown (Herb), Jean Goral (Larry), Joan Weber; two brothers, James Burkel (Phyllis), Robert Burkel (Donna); her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary Mettler, Carol Burkel, Kay Burkel; brothers-in-law, Joe Fay, Tom Fay (Lynn); many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends, Jean Hethke and Dorothy Berth.

Wendy is joining her parents and her spouse's parents; her brothers, Dan, Ron (Shirley), Chuck, Jerry Burkel; sister, Mary Mettler; her brother-in-law, Bud Weber; and sister-in-law, Judy Hummel (Fay).
