    • Steven C. Smits, 59, Green Bay, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. He was born June 2, 1953, in Green Bay to Clarence H. and Leona (Reinhard) Smits.

      Steve graduated from St. John the Baptist Grade School and Bayport High School. He was employed most his career as a car salesman in Arizona and Wisconsin. Steve enjoyed golfing, watching football and yard work. He enjoyed the legacy of Marilyn Monroe; Marilyn was a part of his décor. Steve was very social person and loved being with his friends and family.

      Steve is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carole Christensen and Dan Hepner, Saratoga, CA; Becky and Tom Weber, Green Bay; Marilyn Brendalen, Alexandria, VA; five nieces and nephews, Whitacker Christensen (Amanda Guseck), Jason Weber, Steve Weber, Samantha Brendalen, Andee Brendalen; one great-nephew, Maddox Christensen; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

      Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

      Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

      The "usual" celebration on June 2 will still take place.

      Steve's family extends their gratitude to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital, especially the Pastoral Care Team.
