- Mark J. Menting, 47, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Appleton Medical Center from complications due to diabetes. He was born in Kaukauna, Wis., on July 7, 1964, son of James P. and Barbara (Malsavage) Menting. On March 18, 2001, Mark married Michelle Anderson in St. Petersburg, Fla. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1983 and later attended Fox Valley Technical College, taking classes in Diesel Mechanics, HVAC, and Police Science.
Mark worked for many years in HVAC, retiring in 2009 due to illness. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping with his sons, Logan and Cross. Mark also coached a number of youth sports in Hortonville.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; two sons, Logan and Cross, Hortonville; his mother, Barbara (Malsavage) Menting, Kimberly; a sister, Nea (Wayne) Lamers, and their sons, Adam and Brady, Little Chute; his mother-in-law, Nancy Anderson, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Debbie (Rod) Lange and Carla (Rick) Heider, both of Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Todd Anderson, Florence, Wis.; and special family members, Sharon and Karl Atkinson.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, James P. Menting, in 2010; his father-in-law, Eugene Anderson; an aunt, Kay (Malsavage) Benotch; paternal and maternal grandparents, along with other aunts and uncles.
The funeral liturgy for Mark will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, Wis. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kaukauna.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the AMC staff, especially ICU nurses, Jenna, Richard and Beth, and 6th floor CNA, Lisa, for the wonderful care given to Mark. In addition, the family thanks Father Gerald Falk, Sister Annette Koss, and Marcia Trentlage for their support, concern, and love during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Mark's name.
