- Alice Mae Douglas
77, Appleton passed away Sept. 29, 2016 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born August 2, 1939 in Seymour, WI to the late Michael and Catherine (Leisgang) Wojciehowski. She grew up on a farm just outside of town. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1957 and married her HS sweet heart, Leon Blumreich in 1958 in Hoffa Park. They moved to Appleton and had two children: Lou Ann (Scott) and Bing (Beth). They divorced in 1966. She later met and married Richard 'ick' Douglas in 1970. They had a son Jay (Nikki). They were married over 30 years until his passing in 2004.
Alice was a member of St. Bernadette Parish and longtime friend of Bill W. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening and bird watching. She lived to help others.
She is survived by a younger sister, Theresa Palubicki and 7 loving step children: Michael (Katherine; D Ann; Cyndi (Jutta); Scott (Deb) Suzanne (Zach); Jennifer and Greg (Melanie); 13 grandchildren and 12 beautiful great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard H. Douglas.
A Prayer Service for Alice will be held at 6PM Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon Michael Madden officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 4 - 6 PM Monday evening the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
