    • Chilton - Jacqueline Helen "Jackie" Schaefer, age 85, of Chilton, died on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born June 9, 1932 in Chilton, daughter of the late Norbert & Ruth (Steenport) Sturm. Jacqueline married Cyril H. Schaefer on July 18, 1951 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton; he preceded her in death on January 26, 2004.

During her working years, Jackie and Cyril farmed together and she also worked as a teller at the Commercial Bank, now known as BMO Haris Bank in Chilton. Together, they raised a family of eight children, who all got a taste of farm life. Jackie enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden.

Jackie looked forward to moments she could spend with her family and friends. She enjoyed time spent at the cottage, playing hand after hand of various card games including Bridge, Cribbage, Sheepshead and Liverpool Rummy. Traveling to new places always created memories, but Jackie loved an occasional trip to the casino for a round of Blackjack because it reminded her of times spent there with Cyril.

She had dedicated part of her life as a leader of the Busy Beaver 4H Club and volunteered time with the Hospital Auxiliary. Above all else, Jackie deeply cherished her faith and celebrated the gifts of God in her life. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Parish where she had been a member of the Christian Mother's and the Daughter's of Isabella.

Survivors include her children: Chris (Mark) Blohowiak, Barb (Dave) Ketter, Jim (Jean) Schaefer, Cathy (Paul) Rusch, Lorrie (Phil) Green, Joe (Barb) Schaefer, Ann (Dan) Konen, Lynn (John) Degeneffe; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Pat Stadtmueller, Jean (Kerry) Klotz; and her brothers: Robert (Sandra) Sturm and Paul (Kathy) Sturm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cyril; her in-laws: Claude & Sophie Schaefer; a brother: John Sturm; and a brother-in-law: Len Stadtmueller.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2018 and on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. A vigil service will take place Thursday evening at the funeral home at the close of the visitation.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Jacqueline H. Schaefer.

Jackie's family would like to thank the entire staff and residents of Century Ridge along with everyone at Heartland Hospice for all of the care and compassion that has been shown to both Jacqueline as well as her family.
