- Mrs. August Karstedt Rites on Friday
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church for Mrs. August Karstedt.
Mrs. Karstedt died February 17, at her home at 519 S. Union St., of a stroke. She died at the age of 74 and has been ailing for three years.
She was born at Holland, Sept. 11, 1878 as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bastian.
At the age of three, she came to DePere with her parents, and lived there one year and then to the Town of Richmond, where she was about fifteen years. Her parents lost the farm by fire and they moved to Shawano where she has lived ever since.
On Jan. 12, 1905 she married August Karstedt of Shawano.
Mrs. Karstedt was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and also a member of the Christian Mothers' Society.
Surviving are three children, Frank of Shawano, (Catherine) Mrs. Joe Sacotte of Green Bay and (Margaret) Mrs. Wm. Engel of Red River. There were five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Sisters surviving are (Lucy) Mrs. Wm. Steeno of Green Bay, and (Dora) Sister St. Hedwige, St. Louis.
Friends may call at the Karth Funeral Home after 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Karth Funeral Home.
Rev. Joe Schaefer will be in charge of the service.
Burial will be at the Shawano cemetery.
