- Linda, age 62, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center Hospice. She was born December 14, 1948, in Appleton, daughter of the late George and Flora (Daurmont) Dahlke. She married Joseph Vandenberg, February 14, 2003, and he preceded her in death in February of 2008.
Linda was formerly employed by the Neenah Police Department as a Crossing Guard, the Menasha Police Department as a Community Service Officer and by Kimberly-Clark Corp. as a Security Guard from 1992 until her retirement. Throughout her life she enjoyed collecting dolls and took pleasure in cake decorating and painting ceramics. She was especially fond of her cat, "Dust Bunny" and her dog, "Katy."
Linda is survived by her son: Seth Hofslund and special friend Andrea Lavarenz, Stevens Point; two daughters and sons-in-law: Heidi and Roger Prahl, Lake Geneva; Heather and Brad Erdmann, Appleton; five grandchildren: Morgan, Hannah, Ethan and Grant Prahl and Tiffany Erdmann; two brothers: Steve Dahlke, Plover and Richard Dahlke, Ashwaubenon; a sister: Karen Foley, Green Bay; her mother-in-law: Frieda Vandenberg; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law: Richard Vandenberg.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
