      Albers, Louis L.
      Louis L. Albers, 81, De Pere passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2006, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1925, in West De Pere to the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers. He married the former Lorraine Linssen on Nov. 23, 1950, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Green Bay. Louis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the De Pere VFW Post 2113. Louis was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Louis was a union heavy equipment operator all his life. He enjoyed playing cards on Tuesdays with his buddies at the VFW Club in Bellevue. Louis loved to follow De Pere High School sports as well as the Packers.

      Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; children, Richard (Darlene) Albers, Green Bay; Joy (Larry) Watruba, Bellevue; Roger (very special friend Cindy) Albers, Savannah, GA; Jim (Judy) Albers, De Pere; Judi (Rudy) Jarvey, Green Bay; eight very special grandchildren, Todd (Tracy), Tara (Sean), Ryan, Eric, Zach, Kurt, Josh, Nathan; brother, Wilbur (Audrey) Albers, De Pere; sister, Lillian Mooren, De Pere; sisters-in-law, Agatha Albers, Bellevue; Mae Vanden Hoogen, De Pere; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Marcella (Russell) Schmude, Beatrice Henrigillis, Merlin (Joanne) Linssen, Eunice Kocken, Bernard (Carole) Linssen, Marion Rukamp, Ruth (Robert) Beining, Ralph (Joyce) Linssen), Beverly (Richard) Huxford, and Kenneth (Nancy) Linssen and nieces and nephews.

      Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Margaret) Albers, Leo (Agatha) Albers, Henry Albers, Robert Albers, sisters and brothers-in-law, Minnie (Joe) Thyssen, Mildred (Clarence) Gerrits, Loretta (Joseph) Denk, brother-in-law, Sylvester Mooren, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Alvina (Leonard) Schoessow, Norbert Henrigillis, Walter Kocken and Donald Rukamp.

      Friends may call at COTTER FUNERAL HOME, 860 N. Webster Ave. De Pere, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Wake service 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Fr. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
