- Clarence Gerrits
Clarence Gerrits, 75, 1674 Williams Grant Rd., De Pere, died Friday morning, January 20, 1989 in Rennes Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 23, 1913 in Kimberly to the late Martin and Odelia (VerHagen) Gerrits. On April 27, 1937 he married Mildred Albers at St. Boniface Church.
Mr. Gerrits farmed in the Town of Lawrence for most of his life, retiring in 1975. He enjoyed baseball, and had been a pitcher in the Green Bay City League. As an avid gardener, he enjoyed raising flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; five sons and four daughters-in-law, James and Gail Gerrits, De Pere; Gerald Gerrits, Green Bay; John ad Barbara Gerrits, and Kenneth and Mary Jo Gerrits, all of De Pere; Paul and Susan Gerrits, Neenah; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gary VanDerWegen, Green Bay; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lucy and Ray Montonati, Appleton; Alice Janssen, Marge Schmitt, and Ceil VanBeek, all of Kimberly; Martha Jansen, Little Chute; Betty and Corey VanBoxtel, Kimberly; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Wilbert and Rosella Gerrits, Kimberly Joe Gerrits, Appleton; LaVern and Mary Gerrits, Combined Locks; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th St., DePere, after 4 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service 7:30 p.m. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Church with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
