Notes - MATHIAS J. KEES, 82, of R. 2, Hilbert, died Tuesday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, following a lingering illness.
Born on Feb. 17, 1887 in the Town of Woodville, he was a son of the late Michael and Anna Schreiner Kees. He married the former Marie Mirsberger on May 21, 1911 at St John. She died on July 24, 1947. The couple farmed in the Town of Woodville most of their lives. Mr. Kees was a member and trustee of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Max (Celestine) Gehrman of Appleton and Mrs. Victor (Agnita) Nennig of Chilton; three sons, Francis of Sheboygan, Leonard of Fond du Lac and Paul of Hilbert; 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Theresa Vogds of Food du Lac, and a brother, Michael of R. 2, Hilbert.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St John die Baptist Catholic Church, St John, die Rev. Linus J. Steckbaner, pastor, celebrant of die requiem Mass. Burial will be in die parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Kapitzke Funeral Home, Hilbert, after 3 p.m. Friday
