      Kloehn, Lloyd S.
      Lloyd S. Kloehn, age 78, of Kaukauna, died on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center following a short illness with his family at his side. Lloyd was born in Kaukauna on December 31, 1930. He was baptized at Holy Cross Church. Lloyd was a graduate of Kaukauna High School with the class of 1948. After high school, Lloyd proudly served his country with the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Beatty DD-756. After returning from service, he married Patricia A. Frank on June 23, 1956, at Holy Cross Church, and the couple celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage this past year. Lloyd worked for many years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1990 as the Combined Locks Postmaster. Lloyd was well-known for his public service. He served as a Kaukauna Alderman, Village of Little Chute Trustee, Outagamie County Supervisor and Chairman of the Law Enforcement Committee, and served some time as a bailiff for the Outagamie County Courthouse.
      He was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Church, where he served as an usher, a member of American Legion Post 436 in Wrightstown. He was active in Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts of America.
      Lloyd enjoyed his wonderful family and spending time with his 15 grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. His personality and humor captivated many. He loved spending time in the Northwoods "Up Nort" and was also an avid poker player.
      He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Pat; his children: Kurt (Tina) Kloehn, Little Chute; Kerri (Ken) Schmidt, Rhinelander; Kelly (Cary) Meyer, Appleton; Kris (Darrell) Neumann, Appleton; Kyle (Britt) Kloehn, Fitchburg; his grandchildren: Casey, Sadie, Taylor and Annie Kloehn; Adam, Jacob, Jordan and Nathan Schmidt; Lucas and Nicholas Meyer; Tera, Ethan and Kyle Neumann; Kaelen and Trevor Lloyd Kloehn. He is further survived by his siblings-in-law: Don (Carol) Frank, Lois (Dan) Schommer, Karl (Nancy) Frank, Tom Frank.
      He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose (nee Drace) Kloehn; brother, Carl Kloehn; sister-in-law, Arlette Kloehn; father-in-law, Melbourne "Boze" Frank; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Frank.
      Funeral services for Lloyd will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church (309 Desnoyer Street) with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Friends will be received at the Fargo Funeral Home (400 West Wisconsin Avenue) on Sunday afternoon, January 25, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and again on Monday morning at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Lloyd's name.
      The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs of the I.C.U. at Appleton Medical Center and the Kaukauna Dialysis Center; and especially Dr. Greg Johnson, Dr. F. Graham, Dr. Thomas Lewandowski, Dr. Atif Qureshi, and Dr. David Koeper, for their medical care; as well as Rev. John Krueger, Fr. Marty Fox, Fr. Jack Mullarkey and Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen for their spiritual care.
