- Leland J. "Lee" Arcand, 76, Green Bay, died Monday, April 13, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born April 3, 1933, in Green Bay, to Hosanna Joseph and Mereena (Devroy) Arcand. On May 5, 1956, he married Jeanette Schirk in Green Bay. She preceded him in death in September of 1989. He later married Joan Tufts in Green Bay and she also preceded him in death. Lee worked for Northwest Engineering for 35 years and later for Bay Tool and Die. He was a devoted father who loved cigars, his dog, "Moxie," hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Brenda Arcand-Hartstern, Russell Arcand, Lisa (Arcand) Henry, Larry and Shelli Arcand, Brian and Marcia Arcand; his grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Michael, Lee, Christina, Jacob, Amanda, Brandi; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jacob ; his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Barbara Arcand; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; his 2nd wife, Joan; his parents; and a grandchild, Ben.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family expresses their thanks to the nurses in the ICU and the 5th Floor at St. Mary's Hospital, the staff of St. Mary's Pastoral Services and to Pastor Scott Malme of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The family also expresses their special thanks to our sister, Lisa for being at his side.
