- Peter Joseph Olejniczak, 84, Greenleaf, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon November 6, 2016 at his home after a six year battle with cancer.
The son of the late E. Joseph and Leona Olejniczak was born May 13, 1932 in Green Bay Wisconsin. He married the love of his life Naomi Elsner on November 8, 1958 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Green Bay. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed carpentry, wood-working, farming, gardening, fishing, animal husbandry, playing cards, and polka dancing.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Paul (Deborah) Olejniczak, Sedalia, Missouri; Lee Olejniczak, Greenleaf; three daughters and three sons-in-law: Karen (Peter) Verbeten, Greenleaf; Beth (Jon) Kubitz, Green Bay; Amy (Michael) Van Lanen, Green Bay; ten grandchildren: Peter James (Kaycee), John, and Matthew Olejniczak; Amanda (Chad) Hygema, Eric, and Zachary Verbeten; Nicholas and Annamarie Kubitz; Katelyn and Haden Van Lanen; two great-grandchildren; Belinda and Jameson Olejniczak; four brothers and one sister-in-law: Mike Olejniczak, Greenleaf; Paul Olejniczak, Greenleaf; Joseph (Margie) Olejniczak, Greenleaf; Mark Olejniczak, Madison; three sisters, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law: Margaret Janssen, Green Bay; Clare Stroobants, Chilton; Dolores (Dennis) Zwiers, Sherwood; Douglas Elsner, Green Bay; Brenda (David) Elsner, Appleton, and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi, his mother-in-law Vera Elsner; three sisters-in-law: Carol (Mike) Olejniczak, Eve (Virgil) Johannes, and Mildred (Douglas) Elsner, and four brothers-in-law: Marvin (Clare) Stroobants, Preston (Margaret) Janssen, Warren Elsner, and David Elsner.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Saint Clare Catholic Church, 2212 Day Street, Greenleaf, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. for visitation with a memorial service immediately following visitation with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Umang Gautam, his nurses, the staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and the Aurora at Home Hospice. The family request donations to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in-lieu of flowers.
