Engel, Anita M. Anita M. Engel, Pickerel, WI, age 79, died suddenly at her home near Pickerel, WI, on Saturday, December 1, 2007. She was born on March 19, 1928, in Hortonville, WI, the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Wege) Klingert. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1946. She worked as a nursing assistant for 19 years and as a X-ray technician for 25 years. She had worked at the Beaver Dam Hospital for many of those years. The past 37 years she lived in the Pickerel area, prior to that she lived in Beaver Dam. She was a member of the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus and the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Pickerel. Anita was an all-around sports fan. She particularly loved the Badgers and the Packers. She would proudly wear her green and gold and looked forward to each game.
She is survived by a daughter: Sharon Homman, Pickerel, WI; a sister, Jane (Robert) Dengel, Appleton,WI; a grandson, Paul (Janet) Homman, Columbus,WI; a great-grandson, Jason Homman, Columbus,WI; a great-great granddaughter, Alyssa Homman, Columbus, WI; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband Howard Engel; two brothers Edward (Mona) Klingert and James Klingert; a sister Dorothy (Ralph) Noffke.
Funeral services for Anita M. Engel will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Robert Wilke officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus,WI. A luncheon will follow the commital services in the church fellowship hall. Friends and relatives may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Memorials would be appreciated to the family of Anita M. Engel. The Vangen Funeral Home in Rio is assisting the family.
