Meulemans, Barbara Ann "Coo-See"
Barbara Ann "Coo-See" Meulemans, 71, of 643 Manitowoc St., Reedsville, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph & Josephine (Novak) Kubale.
She married Robert Meulemans on June 30, 1962 in Reedsville. Barb graduated from Reedsville High School and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She taught English at both Chilton and Kiel High Schools for over 32 years and was head of Forensics and the English Dept. at Kiel High School.
Barb was honored as Kiel's Citizen of The Year in 1997. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, American Legion Auxiliary Post 199 of Reedsville, was currently Vice President of the Catholic Knights Branch 80 of Reedsville and was a founding member of the Reedsville Alumni Association.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Meulemans and partner Ivan Hanson of Maple Grove, Mike Meulemans and Carli Miiller of North Muskegon Mich.; her brothers and sisters, Lawrence (Dorothy) Kubale, Middleton, Bernard (Karen) Kubale, Merton, Kathryn (Bill) Coonen, Hartford, Dorothy Reinke, Reedsville, a sister-in-law Fran Kubale, Green Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty (George) Reitmeyer and Jack (Pat) Meulemans, all of Manitowoc, Terry (Donna) Meulemans, Reedsville; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, on May 30, 1995; brothers, Edward Kubale, Bill (Harriette) Kubale, and Bob Kubale; a sister-in-law, Mary Kubale; a brother-in-law, Ron Reinke, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Emil Meulemans; in-laws Helen (Glenn) Johnson and Jim Meulemans.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tue. Nov. 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Revs. Tim Coonen and Matt Simonar will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville on Mon. from 4 to 8 p.m. and then at the church on Tues. From 9 a.m. until the time of mass. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 Monday evening at the funeral home.
