- Cyrus J. Bauman, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his wife of 62 years and his 7 children. He was born on February 17, 1920, in Mosinee, Wisconsin, the son of the late Paul and Louise (Brod) Bauman. On June 2, 1945, Cyrus married Mildred Tennessen in Jacksonville, Florida. Cyrus served his country in the U.S Navy during WWII. He was employed at Kimberly-Clark Badger Globe Mill for 41 years, retiring in 1981. Cyrus was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed watching baseball games at Little Falls and was a Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed spending time at his Tree Farm in Mt. Morris and going for rides with his family.
Cyrus is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred; four sons: Kenneth (Susan), Oshkosh, Norman (Barbara), Neenah; Randall (Shirley), Menasha; Gerald (Jean), Fremont; three daughters: Ann Marie (Larry) Johnson, Neenah; LauraLyne (Dave) Walters, Neenah; Marlene Bauman, Eagle River, WI; 16 grandchildren: Sherrie (Dale) Johnson, Kelly (Martin) Kettner, Chad (Sara) Bauman, Mark (Kecia) Bauman, Todd (Shelly) Hribernik, Scott (Jackie) Hribernik, Bobbie Jo (Kevin) Steger, Jeremy (Marcy) Bauman, Jacob Bauman, Jesse Bauman, Tammy (Paul) Kaphingst, Todd (Tina) Schmidt), Parker (Gretchen) Walters, Holli Walters, Hunter and Brooke Mathison, 22 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, a sister, Lorraine Marsceau, Menasha; a brother-in-law, James B. (Carol)Tennessen, Little Chute.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Bauman, and a sister, Bernice Engebrecht.
Private family services will be held. Inurnment will be in Wolf River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Cyrus' family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the many Dr's, ThedaCare Hospice staff and the VNA staff for all of the care and help they provided to Cyrus and their family.
