      Van Den Heuvel, John J.
      John J. Van Den Heuvel, 89, Green Bay resident, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at an area hospital.
      He was born on Nov. 8, 1917, in Green Bay, to the late Anton and Wilhelmina (Wieland) Van Den Heuvel.
      On Nov. 12, 1938, he married Leona Kaster in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on Dec. 1, 2001.
      John was self-employed as a contractor in the residential building industry. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. John enjoyed hunting up North and spending time in Florida. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends.
      He is survived by 11 children, Dale (Leslie), Green Bay; Gary (Portia McKee), Tennessee; Jill Bushnell, Florida; Kenny (Susan), Dyckesville; Dennis (Kris), Green Bay; Denise (Terry Fitchett) Van Den Heuvel, Florida; Dean (Rosalind), North Carolina; John "Jack" (Kris), Green Bay; Randy (Amy), Tennessee; Mary Kay Van Den Heuvel, Green Bay; Scott (Jacqueline), Green Bay; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne (Harland) Lewis, Green Bay; two brothers, Pat (Mary) Van Den Heuvel, Green Bay; Daniel (Elizabeth) Van Den Heuvel, Green Bay; two sons-in-law, Dennis Johnson, Grafton; Jim Van Den Plas, Green Bay; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
      In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Van Den Plas, Sharon Johnson; two sisters and two brothers, Genevieve (John) Manders, Bob (Helen) Van Den Heuvel, Jim (Millie) Van Den Heuvel, and Rita (Dennis) McMillen.
      Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating.
