Albers, Chad
Chad Albers, 45, De Pere, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept.17, 2008, at University Hospital in Madison.
The loving son of Dorothy (Lemmen) Albers and the late Carl Albers, was born June 27, 1963, in Green Bay. He fought a courageous battle against aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease.
Chad was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1981, and UW-Stevens Point.
On May 2, 1987, he married the former Colleen Wellner at St. Joseph Church in De Pere.
He achieved his master's degree from UW-Oshkosh. He spent most of his career in the banking business, and recently formed a partnership in Cornerstone Mortgage Company in De Pere, as a Senior Loan Officer/Owner.
He always wanted to experience new things, whether it was skydiving, bungee jumping, or scuba diving. Chad also enjoyed golfing, hunting, water and snow skiing, and ping-pong.
His family includes his loving wife, Colleen, three beautiful daughters, Carly (18), Caitlin (15) and Callie (10), his mother, Dorothy "Dottie" Albers, one brother, Robert and Barbara Albers, one brother-in-law, Donald Leslie; nieces, nephews and cousins. His family also includes Colleen's parents, Roy and Millie Wellner, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Mike and Darlene Wellner, Jim Wellner and special friend, Ruth Aerts, one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dan Gerrits, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Albers, one sister, Wendy Leslie, and two infant children.
His greatest joy in life was raising his three girls. He always made sure he could be at all their activities, whether it be dance recitals or sporting events. Chad always kept a positive attitude and lived life to the fullest. This continued through these past seven months, when this disease restricted him from physically doing the things that he enjoyed.
