      Nies, Bernadine C. Bernadine C. Nies, age 82, of 735 Harvest Dr. in Brillion, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. She was born July 14, 1925, in the Town of Wrightstown, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Tikalsky) Kabat. She was married on January 29, 1946, to Jerome Nies at East Wrightstown. She and her husband owned and operated the JB Lounge in Brillion for many years. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and especially spending time with her family.

      Bernie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, the Christian Mothers, and American Legion Post #126, Brillion.

      She is survived by her husband Jerry; her children: Dale (Cheri) Nies and Betty Nies of Brillion, Diane (Dan) Cross of Jacksonport; five grandchildren: Vicky (Tim) Giesseman, Brian Nies, Christopher (Jennifer) Nies, Neal Cross and Calsey Cross; four great-grandchildren: Joshua & Emily Giesseman and Cailey & Helena Nies; two sister: Leona Foytik of Green Bay and Rosella (Joe) Nies of DePere; one brother, Stan (Florence) Kabat of Greenleaf; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Ellen and Glen Farrell of Grafton, Lucy Nies of Green Bay and Ruth Kabat of DePere.

      She was preceded in death by two sisters: Millie DeCleene and Cecil Krautkramer; two brothers: Lan Kabat and Fr. Cyril Kabat; and one brother-in-law, Frank Foytik.

      Mass of Christian burial will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of mass. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the Nies family with arrangements.
