    • Denis Betts, 74 of Abrams, passed away September 26, 2012 doing what he loved best, fishing in Canada. Denis was born December 26, 1937 to the late Robert and Helen (Valentine) Betts. Denis married Judy Schuh on January 30, 1959. He was employed at Leichts Transfer and Storage until his retirement. Denis enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling with Judy and picking mushrooms in the woods.

      Denis is survived by his wife, Judy Betts, Abrams; two daughters, Denise (Terry) Gauthier, Coleman; Jo Ann (Tim) VandenLangenberg, Wausau; three grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Hanson, Lena; Samuel and Rachel VandenLangenberg, Wausau; brother, David (Connie) Betts, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Mary Jo) Krueger, Green Bay; Linda Schuh, Oconto; Donna Schuh, Oconto; Helga Schuh, Crivitz; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his father-in-law, Joseph Schuh, brothers-in-law, Ronald, Thomas and Patrick Schuh.

      A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Denis's life will be held at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Memorial services will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy VandenLangenberg, Rev. Mark Kostreva and Msgr. John Schuh co-celebrating.       The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jim Gascon of Ignace, Ontario for his efforts to save Dens life.

      In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
