- Martha C. (Spierings) Kerry, City of Kaukauna, peacefully went to meet the angels on November 29, 2017; she was 92 years old. Martha was born to John and Anna Spierings on August 13, 1925, and lived on the family farm in Little Chute until her marriage to Robert Kerry on May 2, 1946. Martha and Robert enjoyed 71 years of marriage; spending time at their cabin in Mountain, WI, on the weekends and every year for the week of gun deer season in November. It was a huge family tradition to have Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Martha at the cabin with the entire family.
Martha was a member of St. Katherine Drexel/St. Aloysius Parish for years teaching religious education classes, working for the weekly bingo night, funeral dinners and the annual parish picnic. Martha enjoyed reminiscing about working at the Nightingale Ballroom and the Little Chute Restaurant in her early married years and later for her son at Goldin Iron & Metal Recycling in Kaukauna, prior to suffering a physically debilitating stroke in 1994. Still full of wit and wisdom, she spent her time most recently enjoying word search puzzles and reading.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, Robert, her children: Mary Ann (John) Loderbauer, Jeff (Vicki) Kerry, and Jill (David) Coenen; grandchildren: Jodie (John) Leedle and Dale Kerry; great-grandchildren: Andrew and Alysia Leedle; sister-in-law, Rosita Spierings; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her 18-month old daughter, Jean Ann; her parents, siblings: Elizabeth (Peter) Micke, Henry (Edna) Spierings, Joseph (Gertrude) Spierings, Delia (Harry) Van Roy, and George Spierings; mother & father-in-law, Joseph and Marie Kerry; and in-laws, Art (Marie) Kerry, Melvin (Ruth) Kerry and John "Jack" (Doris) Kerry.
