    • KIMBERLY- Jerome “Jerry” Henry Evers, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 with family by his side. He was born on April 7, 1937 to the late Martin and Mary (Vander Loop) Evers on the family farm in the Town of Vandenbroek. Jerome was united in marriage to Lois Grafmeier of Combined Locks at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on July 16. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Little Chute his entire life. Jerome graduated from St. John’s High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army and is a member of the American Legion Post 258. After returning from service, Jerome worked as a journeyman millwright at the former American National Can Company for 43 years and ran the family farm until 1992. He was a 25 year member of the Town of Vandenbroek Volunteer Fire Department and served as a member of the Town Board. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jerome loved to be out tending his garden and watching his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He loved watching the Brewers, rarely missing a game. He also loved his morning coffee at McDonalds with his friends and his Tuesday card group. His other interests include golfing, fishing, camping, hunting, and bowling.

      Jerome is survived by his wife Lois, his children and grandchildren; Sandy (Craig Coenen and wife Julie); Greg (Reed, Shaye, and Tessa); Dan and Denise (David, Dustin, and Devin); Sara and Randy Beckman (Taylor, Peyton, and Blaise); Sheila (Seth and Quynn); Sue and Paul Zurek. Also survived by his siblings; Norb (Helen) Evers; Sr. Celia Evers; Tom (Sue) Evers; and Fr. Len Evers. He is further survived by his in-laws; Joe Dietzen and Dorothy Evers, and Lois’s siblings; Jerry Grafmeier and Carol Tennessen and many nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Geraldine Theunis, Rose Dietzen, Rich Evers, Margaret Christiaens, Jerome, Margaret, Cecilia, Bertilla, and Martha Evers and his mother and father-in-law, Ida and Carl Grafmeier; his in-laws; Elmer Theunis, Don Christiaens, Jim Tennessen, Richard Swanningson, and Ron (Pat) Grafmeier.

      Family and friends are invited to gather at St. John’s Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute, on Sunday, July 7, from 4:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. John’s on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Ron Belitz will officiate and Jerome’s brother, Fr. Len Evers, will concelebrate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
