    • Amasa Thompson died in Sycamore, DeKalb county, Ill., 5th day of August last, Amasa Thompson, aged 85 years. Mr Thompson had taken an active part in behalf of his country, prior to emigrating to this county-- having served in the war of 1812 as Captain. In 1816 he emigrated to Tioga county from Schoharie, N.Y. and settled in the township of Middlebury, where he remained until 1843, when he removed to Sycamore, Ill., where he resided until his death.
