- Robert E. Below, age 90, North Palm Beach, Florida, passed away November 7th 2016. He was born July 5th 1926 to Clara and Carl Below, deceased. He married Joan Van Rooy, Appleton on March 6th 1952. They had three children, Bob Below (Wendy); Sun Lakes, Arizona, Jayne O'Brien (Mark); Spring, Texas and Sharon Gray (Dan); Neenah.
Robert spent his life on the golf course - 25 years at Ridgway Country Club in Neenah as head Golf Professional, 5 years at Oshkosh Country Club, and year round competition tournament golf and finally as a consultant.
He had seven grandchildren. Caitlin Taylor (Joey); Spring, Texas, Maura Messer (Shane); Nacogdoches, Texas, Adam Goerlitz (Jodi); Appleton, WI, Aaron Goerlitz (Laura); Menasha, WI, Noah Goerlitz (Genevieve); Des Moines, IA, Gretchen Goerlitz; Evergreen, CO, and Stefan Goerlitz; Menasha, WI.
He had six great grandchildren. Maggie, Hazel, and Agnes Goerlitz; Menasha, WI and Isaac, Evan, and Mason Goerlitz; Appleton, WI.
Robert will be laid to rest in Oshkosh Peace Lutheran Cemetery at his parents grave site.
