James R. Fisch, 819 S. Joseph St. Appleton, Age 66, died Mon. Aug. 10, 1992 at home following a courageous bout with cancer.  He was born Apr. 20, 1926 in Menasha.  He attended St. Mary Parochial School and graduated from Marquette University as an Electrical Engineer.  He at first worked in the electrical power industry as an electrical design engineer, and then worked in the paper industry as a process control design engineer on various projects across the country as well as Canada and Mexico.  He received commendations from Kimberly-Clark Corp. for various process control projects he headed in the 1960's while working in their Staff Engineering Dept. (several new pulp mills, first de-inking plant, several paper mill expansions, and first off-machine coater).  He then entered the field of sales; was a recipient of the Worthington Corporation's annual President's National Award for Sales Excellence twice; in 1975 was awarded in Paris, France the Worthington Corporations "National Salesman of the year Award"; was the Worthington Area Sales Manager in this area of seven states for almost ten years.  Prior to his death he was president of Jamesway Industrial Sales, Inc. which he organized in 1985.  He served two years in the Army Air Force during 1944-46; was a past member of Marquette University Alumni Association; Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers; Junior Chamber of Commerce in which he was Public Affairs Committee Chairman, a  member of the board of directors and State Director; Lake States Section of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry; Fox River Valley Section of the  Instrument Society of America in which he also was a past president, and the American Legion.  At one time or another he was very active bowling in which he received an ABS award, fishing, golfing, hunting, skiing, and scouting in which he was a past Cub Scout Master.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Marie and his father, John A. Fisch of Menasha.  Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; seven children: Mrs. Jeff (Jane) Rufe, Appleton; Mrs. Ronald (JoAnn) Drews, Appleton; Jeanne, Overland Park, Kansas; and Mrs. Kelly (Jennifer) Heffernon, Appleton; John, Milwaukee; Joseph, Milwaukee and James E. at home; two grandchildren; Beth Drews and John Heffernon; his mother, Mrs. John A. Fisch, Menasha; three sisters: Betty, Menasha; Mrs. William (Marlene) Nytes, Kaukauna; and Mrs. Mario (Mary) Vetta, Milwaukee.  The memorial services will be private. |
