    • Richard Vandermause, 86, Casco, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rosiere on Dec. 2, 1924, to the late August and Ida (Depas) Vandermause.

      Richard graduated from Green Bay East High School at the age of 16. He was drafted into the US Army in July, 1944. On New Years Eve, 1944, he left Boston Harbor for France as a member of the Trailblazers, 70th Infantry Division, 275th Regiment. He was discharged June 25, 1946. Richard earned 2 Bronze Stars.

      On June 17, 1947, he married Gloria Pierre at St. Francis Xavier in Brussels, Wis. They ran a dairy farm in Casco, Wis. Richard also worked as a machinist at Kewaunee Engineering from 1955 until retirement. He enjoyed travel, tinkering in his shop and most of all spending time with his wife and family. Richard was also a member of the Casco American Legion, Post 319, Holy Trinity Holy Name Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and the VFW.

      He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria; children, Rick (Julie), Mary, Terry (Lois), Lynn (Mike) Poole, Bob (Diane), John (Sara), Duane (Jamie); 16 grandchildren, Erik (Wendy), Craig (Katie), Brent (Amber), Jason (Mary), Jessica (Brian) Grimm, Angela (Josh) Fulfer, Amanda (Kevin), Nathan (Tara), Aliese Poole, Troy (Ashley), Cole (Emily), Steven, Melissa, Andrew, Devin, Drake; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Colin, Megan, Anna, Evan, Rachel, Dylan. He is further survived by Flo Vandermause, Ervin (Shirley) Vandermause, Erna (Wallace) Vandenhouten, Joan Sacotte, Melvin DeJardin, Roger Miller, Elaine Guillette, Bernard (Delores) Pierre, Claudette Mirkes, Phil (Judy) Pierre.

      He was preceded in death by siblings, Ethel (Norman) Wautier, Orville Vandermause, Francis Sacotte, Pearl DeJardin. He was further preceded in death by Arthur (Lena Gerondale) Pierre, Angela (Vince) Gilson, Margaret Miller, Ella Mae (Herman) Vandertie, Lloyd Guilette, Paul Mirkes.

      Friends may call at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Casco, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, at church, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wake Service will be Monday 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Bob Miller. Casco American Legion, Post 319 service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
