- In the summer of 1944 a son, Thomas A. "Tom" Van Wychen, was born to Norb and Eileen Van Wychen. Tom did not celebrate birthdays but he's had 67 July 18th's. For the last nine years, Tom has fought the good fight with early-on-set of Alzheimer's. He left us to be with Virg, Vance, Bud, and a bunch of his lifelong friends. Tom will also be fishing with his dad Norb and gambling with his mum, Eileen who went on ahead. Tom was employed at Appleton Coated LLC for over 42 years. He started in Building Services, moved through various departments and ended as Supervisor of CM and stock prep. He was well liked by all the crews who worked with him. Tom's passions lay on both sides of the fence at the softball games. He doted on his corvette and motorcycle, and just yesterday, got permission to get them back.
Thomas Anthony Van Wychen leaves behind many people who love him. Among whom are his daughters and sons: Judy (Ed) Krzyzak, Sue (Mike) Eiting, Shari (Todd) Romenesko, Michael Van Wychen, Maggie Stalsburg, and Russell Miller. He is also survived by his wife, Mary Pat Van Wychen, ex-wives', Joyce Van Wychen and Cathy Rietveld; two sisters: Pat (Fred) Zimmer, Luanne (Tim) Brinkman and their families; nine beloved grandchildren: Sara Olsen, Keith (Trisha) Krzyzak, Madelin, Matthew, Marcus, and Maisen Eiting, Travis and Brandon Romenesko, Tristan Van Wychen; 4 great-grand kids: Destiny, Desi, Chandler Nicolaison and Faith Krzyzak. Waiting for Tom, grandson, Guy, and great-granddaughter, Aspen, are looking after Norb and Eileen at the cottage far, far away. Also surviving Tom are his current in-laws: Pat Betters, Roy (Linda) Betters, Bill (Jackie) Betters, Heidi (Don) Dercks, and all their families, not to mention dear friends, too many to count. Tom is sorely missed by his four legged, furry shadow, Teddy! He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
According to Tom's wishes, the family is donating Tom's remains to the Wisconsin Medical College of Milwaukee in hopes of some answers for the many others who suffer from the many forms of dementia. One answer, one miracle.
