Woldt, Gilbert W. Gib
Mr. Gilbert W. Gib Woldt, age 83, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, formerly of Appleton passed away Sunday, September 19th, 2004 at his residence. Gib was born in Township of Ellington, Outagamie County, Wisconsin on February 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Alma (Pingel) Woldt. He married Shirley Heinritz on September 15, 1950 and later married Joyce Gorges on October 16, 1983. Gib served in the United States Army for three years serving for 18 months in the European Theater during World War II. He was a self-employed landscaper from 1947 to 1969. After that he was employed by Appleton Public Schools including Einstein and James Madison Junior High, and retiring as building Engineer from Highland Elementary School in 1987. He also delivered the Sunday Milwaukee Journals to areas north of Appleton for 27 years.
Gib was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Church Waupaca, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Woldt, Waupaca; son, Gary Woldt, Appleton; grandchildren, Ryan and Sarah Woldt, Menasha; daughter-in-law, Lori Woldt, Menasha; step-children: Roger (Jo Ann) Gorges, New London; Terry Simpson, Gilcrest, Oregon; Rick (Penny) Gorges, New London; Phil Gorges, Clintonville; Duane Gorges, Missouri; Paul Gorges, Wittenberg, WI; Leah (Paul) Reesman, Hortonville; sisters: Regina Denow, Racine; Arlene Agnew, Appleton; Elaine Plamann, Appleton; Dorothy Favorite, Appleton; brother: Earl (Diane) Woldt, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Florence Woldt, Neenah; Joyce A. Woldt, Appleton, WI; step-grandchildren: Holly, Rick Jr., Ben, Katie, Amber, Sean, Bonnie, Sandy, Andy, Nick, Jenny, Rachael, and Nathan.
Gib was preceded in death by sisters: Viola Denow, Ione Choudoir; brothers: Harold and Orvin Woldt and step-granddaughter, Kimberly Gorges.
Funeral Service will be held at Shepherd of the Lakes Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 23rd, with Reverend Dean Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, from 5-8 p.m. at Holly Funeral Home-Waupaca. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Appleton on Friday, September 24th at 10:30 a.m.
