  April 29, 1944 Kaukauna P-38 Pilot is Reported Missing Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lindstrom, 820 Grignon street, Kaukauna, have received word that their son, Second Lieutenant John W. Lindstrom, 22, has been missing in action over Yugoslavia since April 5. He was a member of P-38 Lightning group that was the first to see action after the invasion of North Africa. His missions have taken him over Italy, Austria, Germany and southern France. He has been awarded the air medal with an oak leaf cluster. Promoted recently from flight officer to second lieutenant, he celebrated by flying on his fourteenth mission, according to a Fifteenth Army Air Force release.
