- Dolores Mae (Diedrich) Greunke, 75, Appleton, passed away at home on Saturday, March 12, 2011. She was born in Appleton, on April 30, 1935, the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie (Thomas) Diedrich. On October 2, 1954, she married her husband of 49 years, Gerald "Jerry" Greunke at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton.
Dolores was an avid flower gardener, loved to be in the sun, relaxing by the water and driving her convertible with the top down. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family pets. She will be dearly missed.
Dolores is survived by her children, Jeff (Barb) Greunke, Little Chute; Pam (Gary) Ganzen, Appleton; and Randy Greunke, Appleton; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jesse) Armitage, Sarah (Bill) Schwab, Elaina (Luke) Weyers, Matthew Ganzen and friend, Erika Johnson, Laurie Greunke and friend, Nick; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Brayden, Natalie and Ali; and sisters, Ann (Ronald) Routhieaux, Rosie (James) Vanerem and Carol (Robert) DeWall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Laurie Beth; and numerous aunts and uncles.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to dear friend, Karen Vander Wielen, and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their wonderful help and companionship.
