Duquaine, Roger "Duke" Roger "Duke" Duquaine, 65, De Pere resident, passed away at his home with his family by his side after losing his courageous battle with cancer.

The son of Lewis and Elaine (Hermsen) Duquaine was born March 31, 1942, in Green Bay.

Roger graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and married Susan Fechhelm in Fond Du Lac on June 18, 1966.

He served his country in the United States Navy. Roger was a Parole and Probation Agent for the State of Wisconsin, and after retirement, managed the Mobil station on Webster Ave. in Allouez. He enjoyed riding and showing horses for the past 20 years with his daughter, Rachel — it was one of the loves of his life. Duke treasured the camaraderie and friendships he developed at the Mobil station and horse shows. He truly enjoyed socializing with people. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Chris Goffard, and their daughters, Catherine and Emma; sister, Judith (Allen) Duquaine, Florida; and four brothers-in-law, Gene (Kay) Fechhelm, Virginia; Paul (Mary Beth) Fechhelm, South Carolina; Phil (Amy) Fechhelm, Fond Du Lac; and George (Connie) Fechhelm, Fond Du Lac.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call Sunday, May 20, 2007, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, where there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Mary Catholic Community of De Pere, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at church, with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family extends a special thank you to Unity Hospice for all their care and compassion, and to all of our beloved horse friends who have enriched his life.
