    • STRATFORD — Emma E. Van Ryzin, 89, of C2121 State Highway 153 East died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital where she was admitted March 27. Death was due to natural causes.
      Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford. The Rev. Dan L. Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Marge Redetzke will be the organist for Ernest Van Ryzin, soloist, and for congregational singing. Pallbearers will be Roger and Glen Kubitz, Donald and Marvin Kroening, Dennis Redetzke, and Jerald Clint.
      Visitation will be held at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, after 4 p.m. today and again on Friday until 9 a.m., and then at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
      She was born Nov. 26, 1898, in the town of Cleveland, to Charles and Emilie Kroening. She attended the town of Cleveland elementary schools, Stratford High School, graduating in 1917, and the Marathon County Normal Teachers College.
      She was married to Walter Van Ryzin, June 22, 1921, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford. He died Aug. 25, 1972.
      She was first employed as a teacher in Marathon County. They also were farmers in the town of Cleveland until their retirement.
      She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, the American Legion Auxiliary of Stratford, and a charter member of the Stratford Senior Citizens.
      She is survived by one brother, Emil C. Kroening of Stratford.
      She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, one brother, and five sisters.
