Oscar C. Van Ryzin
Dutch Horbor Estates, Little Chute
Age 75, died suddenly at his resident Tuesday, November 7, 1989. He was born November 18, 1913, in Appleton, where he married Marjorie Janz on July 11, 1947. He held supervisory positions with various construction companies in the valley and was a member of Carpenter's Local 955. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 88th SeaBees in the South Pacific. Oscar was a member of the Harvey Pierre VFW Post 2778 Military Order Cootie Pup Tent 29 and Past Seam Squirrel; he was also a member of the Oney Johnson Edward Blessman Legion Post 38, a member of the fraternal order of the Eagles, Aerie 2486 Glens Falls, New York, and he was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; three daughters and sons in-law, Suzanne and Earl Reese, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Diane and James Miceli, Rudolph; Debra and Scott Rome, Waukesha; two sons and daughters in-law, James and Shirley Van Ryzin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Richard and Barbara Van Ryzin, North Prairie, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Culley, Milwaukee; Petronella Smith, Weslaco, Texas; Sr. Agatha Van Ryzib, Montreal, Canada.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 1989 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. The VFW and American Legion visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial fund is being established for the American Diabetes Association.
