    • Richard L. Leurquin, 79, Green Bay, died Saturday, April 22, 2017, from a short illness after a series of strokes. He was born March 16, 1938 in Green Bay to Louis and Loretta (Denis) Leurquin. Richard attended St. Joseph School and West High School.

      After high school Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was an airplane mechanic from 1956 to 1959. He then went to work as a mechanic for Proctor and Gamble for 36 years before he retired. On April 8, 1961 Richard married Nancy Rickert at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay. In his younger years, Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman, a trait he passed on to his son and grandchildren. Most recently he enjoyed spending time at his cottage up north.

      Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and David Papez; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Beth Leurquin; four grandchildren, Craig Biebel and Sophia, Jonah and Ben Leurquin. He is further survived by his siblings, Jean (Gary) Grathen, Alice (Jim Krausert) Huebscher, Ronald (Dorothy) Leurquin, Roger Leurquin, Carol (Gary) Maddix, Robert Leurquin, Louis (Cathy) Leurquin as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Jean Leurquin.

      Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday. The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. To send online condolences please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

      In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Richard's name.
