    • James P. Diedrich, of Hortonville, passed away peacefully June 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born May 13, 1935, in Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Mathias and Mercedes (MaGuire) Diedrich. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Jim married his wife, Irene Ebben, at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute, Wisconsin, on September 26, 1957.

      Jim was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Greenville, Wisconsin. He was a dairy farmer until retirement in 1997. He served many years as a firefighter, first for The Hortonville Rural and then the Town of Ellington Fire Departments.

      Jim is the father of eight children: Sherry (Lance) Lessard, Santa Margarita, CA, Diane (Barney) Cross, Mark (Sandy) Diedrich, Yvonne (Paul) Ziegler, Richard (Deb) Diedrich, Joe (Faye) Diedrich, all from Hortonville, Linda Rose (infant, deceased) and William (Kathy) Diedrich, Greenville. He is grandfather to Elizabeth (Corey) Curnow, Eric (Melanie) Cross, Matt (Heidi) Cross, Amanda (Joe) Abitz, Michael, Emily and Sara Diedrich, Trevor (Paula) Ziegler, Breanna (Collin) Brown, Jared and Ryan Ziegler, Miranda (Kyle) Nikolai, Megan and Margo Diedrich, Curtis, Derrick, Tony, Ben and Cianna Diedrich, Jacob, Abigail and Luke Diedrich, step grandfather to Chelsea and Ryan Lessard, great grandfather to Levi James Cross and Russell James Nikolai. He has one sister, Mary (Henry) Kreutzberg, brothers: Matt Gary (Linda) Diedrich, Richard (Jeanne) Diedrich, Irene's sister, Mary Feldkamp, brothers: Gerald (Ethel) Ebben, John (Rose) Ebben, George (Rosamond) Ebben and numerous nieces and nephews.

      In addition to his daughter, Linda Rose and his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Diedrich, sister-in-law, Delores Diedrich, Irene's parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Ebben, sister-in-law Margaret Ebben, brother and sister-in-law, Cornelius (Caroline) Ebben and brother-in-law, Howard Feldkamp.

      Funeral services will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Dr., Greenville, on Saturday, July 2nd. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated by Father Peter Mitchell and concelebrated by Father Justin Werner and Father Tom Farrell. Deacon Dave DeYoung will also be assisting. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jim's name. Jim's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Father Peter, Father Justin, Father Tom and all of the wonderful Affinity Hospice caregivers and volunteers, especially Michelle, Kristin and Nancy.
