      William Diedrich was born in New York, New York on March 22, 1888. He was taken to the New York Foundling Hospital at the age of 2 weeks by his mother, Annie Williams. At the age of 4 years old he rode the orphan train from New York to Wisconsin. William was adopted by Peter and Philippina Diedrich. William was raised in the Little Chute-Grand Rapids area. William was their only child.

      William attended schools in Wisconsin, later he had a paper route (The Milwaukee Central, Free Press, Inner Ocean, Record Herald and the Chicago American). William owned his own feed store, grinding feed for the farmers. He owned his own horse and buggy. Later working for the Dan Arpin Lumber Company. His pay was $50.00 a month. Also, he was a chauffeur for Mr. Tom Nash. During the worlds fair in 1907 William worked for the Coty Detective Agency in Seattle, Washington for 18 months.

      Moving back to Wisconsin, William meet Faye Orphal and was married on Oct 21, 1910 in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin, Wood County, where they lived for eleven years. In 1921 William and Faye Diedrich moved from Wisconsin to Washington State with their family, William Louis, Guy Charles, Donald Thomas, Harold Robert, and Margy. Later Betty Jane, Jack Arthur, Patricia Ann, Mary Lou, Jimmy Earl, and Franklin Delano Diedrich were born. William and Faye owned and operated a grocery store at 1711 McDougal Ave, Everett, Washington. Later sold their grocery store and moved to 2913 Hewitt Ave, Everett where they opened up a stove and repair shop, "Stovies Stove Shop" until his retirement; staying home taking care of his wife until her death. William lived in the house until his death. He celebrated his 95th birthday in March 1971. William passed away on Jan 07, 1987, never knowing his birth parents.

      We don't know much about William's birth parents. His birth certificate says, his mother was Annie Williams from Canada, and his father William Bailey, from New York. William's birth certificate says that parents were married and there was a child born to them prior to William's birth.
