    • Helen M. Guyette, formerly of Appleton, age 89, died Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Grand Horizons. She was born in Hortonville on January 21, 1924 to the late John and Mary (Schuh) Nieuwenhuis. She married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Guyette at St. Peter and Paul Parish in Hortonville and cherished every memory made with him. Ken met her at the gates of heaven, preceding her in death just a year ago after 67 years of marriage. Helen loved gambling, fishing, playing cards, doing puzzles, traveling and socializing with family and friends. She was very proud of having eight healthy children. Praying the rosary was important to her. Christmas was her favorite time of year.

Helen is survived by her children: Mike (Pat), Greenville; Steve (Karen), St. Paul, MN; Dan (Bonnie), Appleton; Charlie (Cindy), Menasha; Pat (Jim) Dercks, Appleton; Ron (Teresa), Altus, OK; and Rick, Shiocton; daughter-in-law: Marge Guyette, Denmark; 17 grandchildren: Melissa Farley, Sherry (Tim) Gorski, Dawn Garncarz, Becky (Josh) Bartlein, Katie (Jake) Wildfong, Ben (Erin), Beth and Jimmy Dercks, Lindsey (Justin) Hickman, Robert, Matt (Kari), Darrin, Kenny, Grant, Kevin, Russell (Rachel) and Sarah Guyette; 14 great grandchildren with another due in May; and sisters: Edith Fuss and Agnes Nysse. She is further survived by other relatives and friends and was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great great grandchild in February.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by Ken's parents: Ambrose and Agnes Guyette; son: Jim; granddaughter: Jennifer Guyette; brothers: Francis and Eugene (Joyce) Nieuwenhuis; and brothers and sister-in-law: Melvin Fuss, Willard Nysse and Leone (Joseph) Cappert

I said, "God, I hurt." And God said, "I know." I said, "God, I cry a lot." And God said, "That's why I gave you tears." I said, "God, life is hard sometimes." And God said, "That's why I gave you loved ones." I said, "God, my loved one died." And God said, "So did mine." I said, "God, it is such a loss." And God said, "I watched mine nailed to a cross." I said, "But God, your loved one lives." And God said, "So does yours." I said, "God, where are they now?" and God said, "Mine is on My right and yours is in the light." We love you mom, we'll miss you, we'll see you in heaven.
