- Mrs. W. L. (Mary Ellen) Baeten, 76, 1080 Hanson Rd., died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at home. The former Mary Ellen Gallagher was born April 16, 1910 in Maple Grove. She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Jewel (Ryan) Gallagher. She served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. On June 12, 1932 she married W.L. Bert Baeten in St. Francis Church, De Pere. He preceded her in death July 8, 1986.
Mrs. Baeten had been a member of the Madelaine McCann Post American Legion, Ashwaubenon Historical Society, Green Bay Audobon Society, Packerland Kennel Club, and had may prize winning show dogs and riding horses.
Survivors include one sister, Loretta De Grande, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Gardapee and Florence VandenLangenberg; one brother, Walter Gallagher.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. 10th St., De Pere, after 4 p.m. Thursday. Prayer service 7 p.m., followed by a rosary by the Ladies of the Parish. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, De Pere, with the Rev. Gilbert Jacobs officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
