Van Der Steen, Jesse L. Jesse L. Van Der Steen, Appleton, age 23, died unexpectedly on Wednesday December 6, 2006, as a result of a car accident. Jesse was born January 4, 1983, to Kevin and Patricia (Krueger) Van Der Steen in Appleton. Jesse attended grade school in Appleton and Grand Rapids, MI. He completed his schooling at Forest Hills High School and Kaukauna High School. Jesse worked at Sturm Foods as a forklift driver. He will be remembered for his easy going friendly personality and his genuine smile. Jesse enjoyed playing baseball, Basketball, wake boarding, jet skiing, rafting, fishing, camping and shooting pool. He was well know throughout the Fox Cities and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia (Jon) Horn; his father, Kevin (Judy) Van Der Steen and their children, Kelton Hatton and Sandy (Kenny) Hatton; his sister, Stephanie (Jake) Heaton and her daughter, Serena; grandparents, Mary Krueger; Clifford ( Diane) Van Der Steen; and Al (Shirley) Horn. He is further survived by aunts and uncles: Chris Van Der Steen, Lucy (Mike) Schumann, Georgia (Terry) Riggles, Mike (Chris) Krueger, Dave Krueger, Christine (Larry) Krueger, Mary Sue (William) Carlson, Stephanie (Jim) Mikl, Rachel (Brad) Nolan and Mark Horn as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin K. Van Der Steen, his grandfather, Leo E. Krueger and his aunt, Katherine Horn
Jesse's Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m., on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at the HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jack T. Mullarkey officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, at Church from 10 a.m., until the time of service. Viewing and visitation for Jesse will be SUNDAY, December 10, 2006, from Noon until a 4 p.m. prayer service to end the evening at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. 920-766-2099.
